How to Upload Content with Plesk

Uploading content to your domain it's the essence of your website and online presence. With Plesk, you can upload content in two easy and convenient ways. The first method is via a File Transfer Protocol or FTP program. You basically give access to the server on which your domain is hosted to a file transfer program and upload your content that way. The second method which is also the easiest and more beginner-friendly is through a web interface.

Let's get started with the first method. First, you need to install an FTP client and there are many free choices out there such as FileZilla. Download and install the FTP client, read the instructions carefully to successfully configure it.

To connect to a server using the FTP you will need the FTP Server Address, FTP Username, and FTP Password.

After logging into the Plesk control panel navigate to and click Websites & Domains in the side navigation bar.

From there scroll down until you see Web Hosting Access and click it.

Then there you can look at the server address and change the username and password. When you are done don't forget to press the OK button.

That's it, now you need to login to your FTP client with the new credentials and you can upload content directly to your website.

Now let's look at the second method and what you can do with it.

After logging into the Plesk control panel, navigate to and click Files in the side navigation bar.

To upload content from there you need to navigate to the location you want the files to be uploaded and press the '+' button, then select Upload File.

Choose the file you want to upload and wait for it to be done uploading. That's it you now know how to upload content via the File Manager.
