Supported Email Protocols

All of our shared Windows and Linux hosting plans support all the standard email protocols on the standard ports show below. To read more about the differences between the protocols below please read Default Email Ports - POP3, IMAP, and SMTP.

POP
  • Port 110 - This is the default POP3 non-encrypted port.
  • Port 995 - This is the port you need to use if you want to connect using POP3 securely.

SMTP
  • Port 25 - This is the default SMTP non-encrypted port.
  • Port 26 - If your ISP is blocking port 25, this is the alternative port to use for SMTP.
  • Port 587 - Please use this port for secure SMTP traffic.
IMAP
  • Port 143 - This is the default IMAP non-encrypted port.
  • Port 993 - This is the port you need to use if you want to connect using IMAP securely.
