How to Setup Email on iPhone Using Outlook

In this article we're going to walk you through the steps for setting up an email account on your iPhone using the Outlook application.

Before going any further you'll need to first download the Outlook app on your iPhone. Open the App Store and search for Outlook. You should see the Microsoft Outlook - email and calendar app show up in the search results. Click the +Get button to install the Outlook app on your iPhone. After you've installed the app click the +Open button.

If you already have the Outlook app installed on your iPhone you'll need to find the icon and open the app to follow along the rest of this article.

On the first screen, Outlook will prompt you to Get Started. Click this button to continue setting up your email account.

After you've clicked the Get Started button, the next screen will ask if you wish to receive notifications through the app. You have the option to choose No Thanks or Notify Me. Choose the preference you wish to have to move on to the next screen.

Now, you'll want to enter the email address you wish to set up in the Outlook app. In this example, we're going to add demo@peopleshost.com. After you've entered your email address click the Add Account button.

If you haven't created an email account yet, you'll need to first create an email account in your control panel. Follow these instructions to create your first email account - https://my.peopleshost.com/knowledgebase/6/Creating-an-Email-Account.html.

Choose IMAP on the next screen.

Enter your email address, password, display name, description on the next screen. Once you have entered the information click the Use Advanced Settings.

If you plan on adding multiple email accounts to Outlook we recommend using your email address in the description field to easily identify your email account

Email Address: demo@peopleshost.com
Password: Your email account's password
Display Name: Your name or anything you want
Description: demo@peopleshost.com

When the option to Use Advanced Settings has been enabled you'll be asked to fill out the information for your IMAP Incoming Mail Server and SMTP Outgoing Mail Server.

For INCOMING MAIL SERVER and OUTGOING MAIL SERVER please note that your Hostname may be different from this example. Your Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server may be different from the screenshot below. Please check your Welcome email for your server information.

IMAP Incoming Mail Server

IMAP Hostname: YOUR SERVER'S HOSTNAME
IMAP Username: demo@peopleshost.com
IMAP Password: Password you created for this email account

SMTP Outgoing Mail Server

SMTP Hostname: YOUR SERVER's HOSTNAME
SMTP Username: demo@peopleshost.com
SMTP Password: Password you created for this email account

Click the Sign In button and you've now successfully added an email account to the Outlook app on your iPhone.
