Do I need a dedicated IP address? Print

Most likely not. Historically you would need a dedicated IP address if you wanted an SSL on your domain. However, with the invent of SNI (Sever Name Indication) it’s possible to have more than one domain using SSL on the same IP address. This is true for Windows and Linux servers. Therefore, there’s really no reason anybody would need a dedicated IP address for their account. With that being said, there are a few minor reasons such as email activity or DNS related objectives where this may be required.
